Skylight receive many requests for information and support from young people, whānau and people working with them around LGBTQI+ issues.
Where appropriate we provide support through counselling and/or referral to other organisations, and we are developing a wide-ranging set of information for our resource centre. Groups
Rainbow Youth is a charitable organisation dedicated to helping young queer and gender diverse people (LGBTIQ) up to the age of 27, as well as their wider communities. Their motto is Know Who You Are, Be Who You Are / Whaia to ake ngakaunui, i te pono, i te marama.
OUTLineNZ
offer a confidential, free, LGBTIQ+ affirming support line, face-to-face counselling and free resources.
InsideOUT works with youth, whānau, schools and communities to make Aotearoa a safer place for all young people of minority genders and sexualities to live and be in.

Gender Minorities Aotearoa
is an organisation that helps trans*, intersex and takatāpui people in having choices about their lives, their bodies and in getting the things they need.
ITANZ (Intersex Awareness New Zealand) provide information, education and training for organisations and professionals who provide services to intersex people and their whānau.
Intersex Youth Aotearoa is a platform aimed at providing information, connecting and supporting Intersex young people and their whānau.
Tīwhanawhana is a takatāpui community group based in Wellington that welcomes people of diverse sexualities and gender identity.

Takatāpui, Part of the Whānau is a resource for takatāpui (Māori queer and gender diverse people), their whānau and communities, sharing stories about identity, well-being and suicide prevention.
Rainbow Youth have a free video resource for use in schools/youth groups/health settings that includes a resource pack for teachers/facilitators.
Another awesome site from Rainbow Youth is the I'm Local Project that has free resources and a regional directory of queer and gender diverse support groups all over Aotearoa and online groups – including rural locations and people’s stories.
The Common Ground site has information about identity, and supporting queer and trans* young people.
Families like mine is a guide for parents and families of young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender diverse or who are questioning their sexuality or gender identity.
Making sense is a resource for parents, whānau and friends of LGBT young people.
Sexuality is not a choice is a booklet written with the intention of assisting parents, families and friends to gain more understanding of the fears, concerns and issues of young gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender who are in the process of "coming out".
Everyone is gay is a Q&A website where two young people respond to questions about almost everything to do with sexual identity and gender identity. There are sections on 'family' and 'friends' too.
The Family Acceptance Project use a research-based, culturally grounded approach to help ethnically, socially and religiously diverse families to support their LGBT children.
