- Emotional wellbeing (mind, cognitive, thoughts)
Age group - 7 - 9 years old (year 3 and 4)
Topic - Wellbeing and Resilience
Aim - To empower tamariki to learn about wellbeing (mind, body, and spirit) and strategies to increase their wellbeing through promoting a change in perspective, creative thinking, and self-esteem.
Principles
- Creating a safe environment: Feeling safe will help tamariki feel supported, accepted, and will encourage them to express themselves.
- Learning the “why”: Understanding their emotions and needs will help to promote healthy decision-making.
- Focusing on their unique strengths: Encouraging tamariki to recognise and promote their individual strengths to help foster growth, self-regulation, and positive self-esteem.
