Pathfinders

About the Programme

The Pathfinders Wellbeing Programme is a free-of-charge initiative developed by Skylight for young women aged 13 to 16. The programme integrates an introduction to psychoeducation (learning), kōrero (discussion and reflections), and artwork, exploring concepts related to identity: Whakapapa (Genealogy - Ancestry), Whānau (Family), and Me (Self).

Facilitators are required to lead the different modules and co-facilitate in guiding discussions, running activities, and encouraging participants to dive a little deeper into topics while ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for all. There will be a requirement to facilitate face-to-face, training and mentoring will be provided.

If you are interested, have training and/or background (Youth Work, Counselling, Social Work, Education, etc.), and have experience in working with rangatahi/young people, plus an enthusiastic attitude, great energy, passion, and good judgement, we want to hear from you.

Funded by the Ministry of Youth Development, the programme’s goal is to enhance well-being, boost resilience, and empower young women to lead with courage, strength, and confidence, setting a foundation for a brilliant future of opportunities.

Pathfinders can be delivered for smaller groups (ideally no more than 10 people) in our office if required. If you are interested in us bringing the programme to your school, sports club, or community group we will be delighted,
