Counsellor Profiles

The Skylight Counselling Team is made up of professional counsellors who support peole of all ages - children, young people, families/whānau and adults - when they are experiencing grief, loss and trauma, such as:

  • Bereavement 
  • Family break-up with or without Domestic Violence
  • Behaviour Issues: anger, bullying.
  • Mild Mental Health Issues: Anxiety, mild depression
  • Illness or disability
  • Trauma


Sarah Medlicott

Counselling and Support Services Coordinator 

Sarah has a BA in Psychology (Hons). She has 10 years experience working in the health sector. Sarah takes all the enquiries and referrals for counselling. 


Sherine Mettini

Counsellor (Wellington & Hutt Valley)

Sherine Mettini is a professional counsellor trained at Weltec and life-coach who works with children, young people, adults and families to sort through their challenging issues and collaboratively find solutions. Sherine's counselling approach provides a safe place to explore feelings, a non-judgemental environment, respect and acceptance, a gentle inquisitive attitude and the opportunity for clients to work at their own pace.

Maria Lloyd

Counsellor (Wellington & Hutt Valley)

Maria is experienced in working with women from diverse backgrounds that are facing diffeent challenges in life and is currently expaning her scope to include working with families and children. Maria encourages clients to identify their difficulties and concerns by using various types of therapies, including Client Centred Practice and Cognitive Behaviourlal Therapy. She aims to guide clients to realise their inner strength and helps them to build their resilience so they can develop more satisfying and resourceful ways of living..

Vivienne Wolff

Counsellor (Kapiti)

Vivienne has a Bachelor of Counselling and Diploma of Health and Human Development.  She has worked as a counsellor with Living Well Counselling Centre in Levin for a number of years and recently set up private practice in Paraparaumu. Vivienne works with older children (and their families), teens and adults in a way that suits them, drawing on many different approaches including person centred counselling, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and others.  The therapeutic relationship that is develop throughout the counselling process is of paramount importance to the way she works, being in a holistic and non-judgemental manner.

Ceit Robinson

Counsellor (Kapiti and Porirua)

Ceit is a professional counsellor based in Kapiti and Porirua. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, and a Diploma of Trauma Management. She is completing her Masters Degree in 2017, and has recently set up her private practice on the Kapiti Coast. She has worked with women and women’s issues, children and youth, and their families. Ceit uses a client-centred approach, but also incorporates elements of other approaches, including narrative therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), into her practice.Ceit creates a safe and supportive space to collaborate and work towards your goals. 

Liz Gow

Counsellor (Whangarei and Northland)

Liz has a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling – Narrative Therapy and a BSc in Occupational Therapy.

Liz has worked in mental health, a disordered eating service and hospice. Currently she works in private practice mostly with adolescents and adults.  Liz also facilitates workshops and programmes to promote body confidence, self-esteem and critical thinking for young people.

Sarah Markham

Sarah is a Skylight Counsellor in Auckland. She has experience working alongside children, young people, families and adults. She supports clients to move forward with a new found confidence and awareness. She uses a client lead counselling approach incorporating narrative therapy, CBT and play therapy.

Viola Beintken

Viola has a Master's Degree master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Since obtaining her counselling qualification in 2014, she has been in private practice, providing individual and family counselling, offering community courses and parenting support. In addition, I am counsellor at CAB Mt Roskill.

Shanti Rajan

Counsellor (New Plymouth and Taranaki Region)

Shanti has a Masters Degree of Counselling and has worked as a counsellor for over 15 years. She specializes in Mental Health related issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss and post-traumatic stress disorder. Shanti speaks a number of languages as is able to work with people from a diversity of cultural backgrounds and ethnicities through an approach of mutual respect, empathy and patience. 



Skylight Counselling is completely confidential, with the exception of situations that present a serious risk of danger to the client and/or others.
